About the Rivers Resort
Don't forget your camera. And maybe, just maybe you can get that picture of a fawn and its mother standing in the forest or walking through a meadow.
A total of ten units on almost 3 acres of forested private land, the sound of the river and gentle walks await your leisurely stroll. The view across the river is timbered forest land.
If you are tired of sterile motel-type units, you will enjoy the beauty and warmth of the solid woods, and the comfortable size of our units, each individually owned and decorated.
All Units are one or two to three story houses which were built in the 1950's during the construction of the Tri-Dam water storage and power project. Most have been remodeled yet maintain the rustic comfort of knotty pine paneling and the homeyness of well-built year-round mountain cabins.
We say "Just bring your food, your family, and Fiddo, if you like."
Two of our units have fireplaces.
Three units have gas log fire places providing the ambiance without the burden of carrying wood.
Most units have a direct view of the river. The river is just a few steps from your porch.
Beds are made when you arrive, and no additional bedding is required.
Towels are provided, however, there is no daily maid service.
All cabins have cable T.V., and all have DVD and some still have VHS.
All kitchens include pots, pans, and dishes, a stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and refrigerator. Several now have dishwashers if this is important to you, ask!
Each unit has a barbecue EXCEPT in winter!! They get squashed by falling snow from the roof. Bring your own briquettes. Several have gas BBQs.
The cabins are housekeeping accommodations and cleaning equipment and supplies are provided as well as toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. You are expected to vacuum, mop and clean the floors, wash all the dishes and carry out the trash when you leave.
Please leave the beds unmade - you do NOT have to strip them - so we can change the linen, and we will also clean and sanitize the bathrooms.
The Strawberry Store nearby can provide rental videos and DVDs, fishing supplies, and your other grocery needs.
Isolation provides solitude, but requires caution. Mountain skills are beneficial if you walk more than a short distance away from the town of Strawberry. We are NOT responsible for acts of nature such as falling pine cones, or snow storms - whether in the forecast or NOT - and PG&E is the only one responsible for electrical outages!!
